Sew....about the budding seamstress in me (and I will try not to overuse the homophone pair "sew/so" too much but it's going to be sew hard) and for those of you still reading...I just got a sewing machine. I mean, technically I had one that my Grandmother gave me and my mom had one when I was growing up, but I never did much actual sewing. My mom helped me make some pillows and a duvet once, and I had hand sewed a few things, but never really had the bug to do much else. UNTIL I had a baby! I started seeing so many things that I could not afford but wanted desperately. Not essentials mind you, just cute onesies with neckties sewn on, personalized blankets and bibs, and then to top it all off I discovered Pinterest! If you are not on Pinterest, let me warn you, prepare to be overwhelmed, inspired, and maybe to develop a little carpal tunnel from too much "pinning".
Ok, my old sewing machine was to be delivered via Mom this summer, but I was having a hard time waiting. Especially when I knew that modern machines could do so much more and would probably be less frustrating to hone my skills on. Well, that thinking coincided with my sweet mother-in-law giving me a thank you check for taking care of her bill pay while she is gone for the winter: Welcome Home refurbished Brother CE8080 Project Runway sewing machine, Welcome Home.
Bibs: for my boy and his soon to be born playmate Elise.
Pants from a pair of old boxer shorts
and a few of those embellished onsies I was craving
Ok, my darling baby is waking up now so I must go. After bedtime (6 pm can you believe it!) I plan on putting on the finishing touches on a pair of baby yoga pants Im making out of one of my old shirts. Sew long! :-)
